Favors

Just turn around and go back
to wherever you came from.
Your reluctance is showing through the thin veil of your smile.

Leave me alone, it’ll put me in
the hole if you save me.
Now I’m selling hotels and hoping
for a chance you won’t break me.

The only thing you ever held
was over my head.
Over my head in debt to you
is all I ever felt.

And your eyes reflect the lies
your words cannot disguise.
You can’t fool me.
Don’t do me any favors.
